"Reagan gave us Morning in America..."

Yeah, he is also single handedly responsible for Islamic terrorism. Four reasons for this:

1. After the Beirut barracks bombing that killed the marines, Reagan turned tail and ran. Bin Laden openly said said this experience is what persuaded him that terrorism works against the US.

2. After the Russians invaded Afghanistan, the Reagan administration assembled, organized and armed Islamic fanatics from around the globe in Afghanistan to fight the Russians. That's where Al Qaeda came from. It proved very effective against the Russians, but after the Russians withdrew, we just left the terrorists in Afghanistan to fester. With our money and our weapons, the monsters we created came back to bite us and the rest of the world.

3. Reagan single handedly eliminated all of the Jimmy Carter energy programs designed to make us less dependent on Arab oil. He ended all of the energy R&D, eliminate the oil import tariff, tore the symbolic solar panels off the roof of the White House (wasting taxpayer dollars) and went back to business as usual with the Saudis. It was our military presence in the middle east to protect those oil networks, and our sweetheart deals with local potentates for that oil, that infuriated the Islamic terrorists and caused them to pick us as a target. Now 30 years later, we are realizing our dependency of Saudi and Iranian oil is a big mistake and we are turning back to the programs that Reagan abandoned.

4. Reagan's "arms for contras" negotiations with Iran deal persuaded Bin Laden that despite all of our tough rhetoric on the surface, the US DOES negotiate with terrorists. Reagan sent a secret team of diplomats to Iran to grovel with a gift cake, and secretly sold the Iranians weapons despite the embargo against weapons for Iran.

Add these all up, and that is why we remain such an obtrusive presence in the middle east, and why the Islamofascists commit terrorism against us. All Reagan's fault. Are you man enough to admit it?
