Liberal Idiot of the Week

Jimmy Buffett - Singer & Clueless Doofus

Jimmy Buffett is a long time liberal Democrat and resident of the Florida Keys. He has shown particular interest in the Gulf oil spill due to its proximity to his home. While I commend his efforts to help those along the Gulf by holding benefit concerts, I just can't let a few comments he made earlier this week go.

It seems Jimmy said in an interview on Tuesday that the spill occurred due to George Bush's chummy relationship with the oil industry. This is how it was described by Fox News:

Buffett, a supporter of President Barack Obama, said the roots of the spill lie with the administration of former President George Bush, which was often criticized for being too cozy with the petroleum industry.

"To me it was more about eight years of bad policy before (Obama) got there that let this happen. It was Dracula running the blood bank in terms of oil and leases," he said. "I think that has more to do with it than how the president reacted to it."

Really Jimmy? Let's say you're correct that the spill was Bush's fault. Had the well been built where BP and the vast majority conservatives had wanted to build it - in shallow Gulf waters - experts say it would have been easily capped in a matter of days (if not hours), and the environmental damage would have been negligible to non-existent. However, BP was forced by Congressional liberals to build oil wells in far deeper waters under the guise that it was safer for the environment if those wells were built further off shore.

I'd say they were wrong, huh Jimmy?

The point is, even if Bush were responsible for the leak, had the well been built where he and other conservatives preferred, it would have been quickly capped and a non-issue. The fact is that the magnitude of this disaster is due almost entirely to the stupidity of liberal lawmakers... not Bush.

It never ceases to amaze how feeble minded most liberals are. They don't think through issues, they just react emotionally and typically make awful decisions (see Obama). I guess liberals like Jimmy will never learn.

For this reason, Jimmy Buffett is our Liberal Idiot of the Week.

Somebody tell Jimmy about all the donations BP made to Obama and the safety award the Horizons Well won last year from the Obama administration.

It is easy to see how liberals like Jimmy can see this when so many know what the real
problem is, are these people really that dumb, well yes they are..I did not know this was
possible, but i believe Mr. Buffett along with a couple of peopbe over at MSNBC has a
"Brain / Bowel" swap and when they start to think their mouth just runs off...

Mr. Buffett your honor is well received from the family, wear it as if it was a sigh hanging
around your neck, Stupid is all over me...

Great choice. What a ignoramus he turned out to be. I guess I've seen my last Buffett concert. I'm sure you'd get a heavy dose of that intellect if you showed up at one of his benefit concerts.

I think even ol' Jimmy would agree that no one has made more money on less talent than he has. Nonetheless, I liked his music, but dispise his political views.
Why can't celebrities just keep their mouths shut and not talk about things they know nothing about; and just stick to their field of talent?

That's a great piece Pundit, one of your best efforts. In my mind you just provided irrefutable proof that the Left is responsible for the gravity of the Gulf disaster - not the disaster itself - but it's horrendous impact. I'd love to hear some lefty idiot try to argue otherwise.

Well done!

I've always disliked this man's music & never could see what all the excitement over him & his music was all about all these years. His opinions are about as good as his music. Nothing but insipid leftwing drivel. Thank you Mr. Buffett for giving me a good reason to tune you out as well as your boring music. When will celebrities take Laura Ingraham's advice & shut up & sing?! Even if the music sucks big time as in Buffett's case.

Actually, as Dick Morris reveals, it was Bill Clinton who pushed and passed the tax breaks that prompted the oil companies to build in deep deep waters:

Wasn't Clinton a Democrat, there Jimme ParrotPoopHead?

These people just don't know when to shut up!

Actors and singers have always felt guilty for making so much money. A few are able to remain humble, but most go far left to try to justify their spoiled lifestyle.

Longtime fan of your music Jimmy, but when you say this kind of nonsensical statement you really disappoint me. Stick to music Jimmy and stay out of the public eye when it comes to your political views. You'll be doing everyone a favor.
