Famous Quotes In Liberal Idiot History
Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 9:55AM Liberals make all manner of annoying statements. Some are outrageously stupid, while others are just brazenly arrogant. This quote taken from a college graduation address falls somewhere in the middle.
“It wasn’t supposed to be this way. You weren’t supposed to be graduating into an America fighting a misbegotten war in a foreign land. You weren’t supposed to be graduating into a world where we are still fighting for fundamental human rights, whether it’s the rights of immigrants to start a new life or the rights of gays to marry or the rights of women to choose. You weren’t supposed to be graduating into a world where oil still drove policy and environmentalists have to fight relentlessly for every gain. You weren’t, but you are. And for that, I’m sorry.”
Who said it?

Chuck (FL Pundit)
The correct answer was Punch-Drunk Sulzberger. He said it at a New York University graduation ceremony in 2006.

If there was an idiot barrel, these four would certainly rise to the top. I'm going with the idiot Streisand.
I'd have said Jane Fonda, but she didn't use the 'C' word, so it's a toss up.
Fonda.
Just a wild guess: Alec Baldwin.
My basis is the final: "And for that, I'm sorry". This implies it is being spoken by someone who feels that their mere presence can impact political directions. That is ego of the highest order, which fits Baldwin.
I'm going against the odds and say it's liberal hotair bag, Arthur Sulzberger.
Fonda
Has to be Sulzberger. Only a journalist media twit with an ego this big would take responsibility for failing to change the world.
Tough one. I think the wording is a little too articulate for Fonda and not angry enough for the two men.
I say Streisand.
I don't know about Streisand; she's all about 'I's' & 'me's', very really any 'you'.
It has to be the Putz from the old grey rag, you have to hate America and all she
stands for just to be employed at the New York Times...
Mr. Sulzberger, you must step up and accept your award...
Too many big words, unless they have an acting coach or script reader, for Hanoi Jane, I am going to leave the country Baldwin, or Mecha Strieisand (from Southpark). Has to be the "born with silver spoon in mouth and wouldn't know an honest days work Sulzburger"!
Sulzberger
I am going with Sulzberger as well.
This is the ultimate in mamby-pamby BS. Any of them could have said it. It's a matter of which one it was written for.
Punch Sulzburger, National Enquirer is more objective that the Pravda-like rag he produces.
Streisand
I wouldn't pick up dog poop with the NYT, as it would INSULT THE DOG POOP.
