This Should Be The 2012 GOP Ticket

What a ticket this would be. In my view, it would have the best chance of taking down Obama and Plugs in 2012. Now I realize it's still very early and that we don't know who will run yet (Gingrich, Daniels, Romney, Palin, etc.), but in a perfect world, Christie and Ryan would be the ticket.

Chris Christie (47) was elected governor in the bluer-than-blue state of New Jersey and has quickly made a name by taking on the big spending Democratically controlled legislature and the all powerful teachers union. YouTube videos of him dressing down morons are the stuff of legend. The guy is doing what he said he would do during the campaign and the Left despises him for it. All the more reason to love him.

Paul Ryan (40) is likely the future of the Republican Party. He is whip-smart and viewed as an expert on the fiscal and tax issues that will be all-the-more front and center by the time 2012 rolls around. In fact, it is said that those on the Left literally fear him. He's the smartest guy in the room and seems to have the answers to the test. In a Vice Presidential role, he could be groomed for the big job eight years out.

As it stands today, I think this ticket would be awfully hard to beat. Thoughts?

Can't argue with that logic Pundit. Great choices.

Those are excellent choices. I think they might look to a woman as well though. Jan Brewer?

Both are excellent choices, and absence of Palin is probably a positive given her polarizing effect (folks either love her or hate her).
I believe that Ryan is on record as wishing to stay in his present job due to family priorities (which I certainly can't argue with).
Christie is certainly off to a great start in NJ. I think we need to see what transpires and what he is able to accomplish in turning things around there.

i love both of those guys. ryan has given town halls in my home town numerous times. he says there arethree resons why he couldnt move on to higher aspirations, they're like 8, 5 and 3 years old. i hope his message is getting out. what about michelle bachman-she's not only smart, but don't know if i'd throw her out of bed for eating stale graham crackers

Another blog yesterday proposed John Bolton / General Petraeus.

Christie / Ryan has a lot of economic appeal,
while Bolton / Petraeus satisfies the security issue.

Wow, such hypothetical good choices!!
