It's clearly politically expedient for McCain to do this since he is up for re-election, but I still give him credit for not allowing Kyl to get hung out to dry by the Obama regime.

Dittos, He should have gone into another line of work after becoming a hero. His twisting and turning to keep his job is not becoming. However, I agree that this support for Kyl seemed very sincere.
maverick johnny wants his job back. oh that's just johnny being johnny. next, he should call his buddy feigold and work on a repeal of mccain-feingold campaign finance reform. now that would be more maverick-like

I'm with you Burch, it plays to his favor to do it, but I'm still glad he stepped up and stuck it to Obama.
