Worst Decision Since We Elected Obama

Look how badly the first base ump, Jim Joyce, missed this call. It should have been the last out of the game and ended up costing the pitcher, Armando Galarraga of the Detroit Tigers, a perfect game.

I guess it was a bad angle... And it IS the worst call since 2008!

Feel terrible for the pitcher, but even worse of the ump who sounds like he his near suicidal. He knows he screwed the pooch and has admitted as much. Bad deal all around.

As I have posted to Shep Smith, The Distinguished Broad From Michigan, and others whenever I see these types of articles, umpires do not get every call right. They are expected to be perfect and improve from there, but it aint going to happen like that. Using slo-mo replay to make your point is Obamaesqe. Umpires do not have that opportunity. Plays happen in split-second timeframes and calls have to be made. In my arrogant opinion, when people have taken the opportunity to actually get on a field and umpire games, then they can get on sites, or tv, or wherever and opine. Absent that, I would recommend restraint. Yes, upon further review, he missed a call, but how many might have been missed before getting to what should have been the last play of the game? How many out calls before then might have been safe calls with slo-mo thrown into the mix? Anyway, it's a no hit win for Gallarraga and that's it. Sorry for the rant, but uninformed people, not here, that talk about that about which they know not of, get my panties in a wad. Great site and please overlook my bitching.
