New FL Pundit Banner
Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 5:09PM I'd love to hear your thoughts on the new FL Pundit banner that we added today. Is it loading OK? Anything you'd change?

Looks great Pundit. Really dresses the site up. Haven't noticed any load issues, but I'll let you know.
Pundit, it seems to be a little out of focus to me, but then it is Saturday afternoon and I don't have any idea how many beers I've had.
I'll get back to you tomorrow after I've had Sunday Dinner with the preacher.
That's a good observation HB and that's actually the intent. The banner background comes from and old calvary shield that I blew up a bit. I wanted the FL Pundit and tagline in direct focus and the background painting slightly out of focus.
Chuck - from a graphic design perspective - the strength of the image - the color saturation makes it stand out and therefore the tag line and FL Pundit get lost / overwhelmed on such a powerful background (even if it is blurred it is still too strong colorwise)...
A suggestion (hope I don't offend - I make a living in the graphic design and print industry - color is my specialty) would be to drop the saturation (unblur if you want or leave blurred but soften the image saturation / intenisty and make the tagline a bit bigger - then "conservative opinion and satirical abuse of the left" and the FL Pundit logo will pop against the background.

I like the banner, but you have got to clean the CRAP up from under it.
pundit-great idea! can never go wrong with the bald eagle and the 13 originals. what about putting it over the constitution blown up. you wouldn't ave to see the whole page but the part with the signatures and a portion of the wrting just to make sure people know what the eagle is protecting-just my dimes worth, but excellant addition and some great ideas from the peanut gallery-love horsie's gentle touch
