If I Were King For A Day
Friday, April 30, 2010 at 11:31AM (FLP Opinion) - Our progressive leaders are trying to destroy the United States of America as the Founders envisioned and created it. How can any logical, informed individual draw any other conclusion? From the massive deficits they continue to incur, to the enormous tax scams they have and are trying to impose upon us, to the position they have taken on open boarders and illegal immigration. None of it, is sustainable. None of it.
Yet, a majority of Americans in a recent poll said they would re-elect Barack Obama over a Republican challenger. Really? How much more do these fools need to see? Unfortunately, for many, they could probably never see enough.
From my perspective, there is one change that could be made to the voter law that would fundamentally change the direction of this country and put an end to this madness. It would allow us to rid ourselves of the leftists and their socialist agenda on a national level. The change? Disqualify from voting all people who do not contribute to the Treasury or who receive more in government benefits than they contribute in taxes. In other words, someone who pays nothing toward the running of this country, would no longer be able to help elect leaders who promise to increase taxes on the productive.
For this to work, laws would have to be changed to require all persons to pay income taxes. After all, isn't it only 'fair' that everyone have some skin in the game?
Consider this. If you paid $450,000 in federal income taxes over the last decade, your vote was cancelled out by someone who had been on welfare for that same amount of time. Your busting your hump and paying 40%+ of your income to the federal government, while they pay nothing, yet retain the right to vote for the candidate that will raise your taxes and increase their benefits.
Just look at the riots in Greece. The people who are reportedly doing most of the rioting are those whose absurdly generous benefits were cut in an effort to keep the country afloat. However, it's apparent from watching video of the riots that it's not Greece the rioting moochers are worried about - it's the size of their government checks.
I realize a change like this could likely never occur. The Republicans don't have the political will or the votes, and if they did they would be excoriated as racists by the press. However, if this issue isn't addressed in some manner, it is only a matter of time before the Leftist take power in this country and don't relinquish it.
As the Moocher Class grows - and it is growing exponentially under Obama - so grows the Democrat base. However, if the Moocher Class weren't eligible to vote, the Democrat base would shrink dramatically, as would the chances of any Leftists being elected to national office.
In the end, a change of this magnitude would force the Democrat Party to moderate, and as a result the country would move sharply to the Right.
Let's face it, if we reach the point that the Moocher Class is electing our leaders, the gig is up. We're already too close for comfort. One change in the voter law would ensure that never happened.

You're on the money twice. First, it's a great concept and would fundamentally change the country. Second, it's more likely that I'd be be struck by lightening and win the lottery on the same day than this be passed into law.
Doesn't hurt to dream though.
Below is a few paragraphs from " Why I am Depressed."
Over
five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel "pick up your
shovels, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the promised
land."
Nearly 75 years ago, (when
welfare was introduced ) Roosevelt said, ' lay down your shovels, sit on
your asses and light up a camel, this is the promise land."
Now Obama has stolen your
shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of camels and mortgaged the promise
land !
We can't expect our neighbor to fight our battles, we must do it ourselves....
Good thought Pundit, but it's never gonna happen. The moocher class is the lynchpin of the Democratic Party. This country would be torn apart before they'd allow those voters to be disqualified. However, I absolutely agree with you assessment that removing them from the voter pool would usher in a conservative revolution.
Dude, werd ja get the food? man, got the munchies sooo bad...
Da weed store man, free cookies all week, Raisin oatmeal...left over from 420 day. Dang, check ain't comin till next week so can't score no smoke till then.
Pause, pause, pause
Cool!
Yo, gotta get me a tramp stamp to match the ink on your neck, that's sweet!!
Yeah, I was hammered when I got em, it was sooo awesome! Need to redo my dreads when my money shows up.
Great post. If we could also raise the voting age to about 25 or 30, and have to pass a mandatory civics test - in ENGLISH - before being eligible to vote, we would be spared a lot of grief. Taxation with representation. You don't pay, you don't get a say.
Hey, it worked for Storm Troopers.
Great commentary, Pundit. I am more optimistic than most of you. I am old enough to have seen the political views change from one side to the other, and then back again.
When John Kennedy was president, I was a liberal Democrat. It was a time when people were first being influenced by images on TV. Peace and love was talked about everywhere, but it wasn't real, it was just rebellion being play out mostly for attention.
When Ronald Reagan became president, I was very much a conservative Republican. Everybody felt good about loving this country. But as bad as Carter had been, very few thought we may be losing our freedom.
Most younger people don't realize how new this conservative movement is that we are seeing now. Don't under-estimate how angry people are. Mens actions, fueled by anger, is what gave us the freedom to express our anger now. For the first time in my life, I see masses of men(non-military) willing to give their lives to insure their children and grand children can remain free. Add to that, most conservatives put their trust in God. I'm encouraged, I'm prayed up, and I'm ready to fight.
I can see the day coming when your representatives will be so afraid of you, they will call on week-ends just to see what kind of mood you are in. REMEMBER, we hold the big gun in this battle, OUR TAX MONEY. I,m willing to go to prison, are you?
Good post Horsebutt.....
Its never to late to jump into the fire and we have a huge blaze to extinguish...
That light that shines from the top of the hill will only get brighter if we fuel
the flames of freedom for our children and grandchildren...
God has blessed this great country and with our efforts he will shine once more
with his love and understanding for American Patriots...
Peace to you and the family, my friend....
That's outstanding HB. You bet I'm ready to hit the Gray Bar Hotel if necessary. I agree with everything you said and appreciate your perspective. We need that type of elder wisdom to come out on the other side of this mess. Between Bruce, Dawg and yourself, we have no shortage of that on this site. I know I'm not the only one who appreciates it.
Their parents must be proud! Oh yeah, they are the parents!!
Amen Horsebutt. No matter how discouraged we get we cannot give up the struggle.
FLPundit, the problem is not the existence of a moocher class. We have always had deadbeats in our society. The problem is that they used to be looked down upon with a mixture of shame and disgust. Our society used to have a level of shame to it. Remember when, if a girl in high school became "in a family way" the family was embarressed. Now they are encouraged to have more kids. And these kids are the ones that grow up in an environment where everything is handed to them, so they really don't know any better.
Moochers also used to skip election day. Now Democrats gather them up on buses, give them free cookies and Mountain Dew, and take them to the polls.
