I'm guessing this chart would look far worse after another three years of Obama. Probably in the sub 2% zone. He has to find some way to pay for his asinine government programs.

Not sure that it fully correlates, but defense spending was at 45 year low when we were hit on 9/11. Makes you wonder, huh?
