It's Now Officially Map Day - This One Is Very Interesting

Here is the detail on reading this map:

  • Red = The Republican candidate carried the state in all four of the most recent presidential elections (1996, 2000, 2004, 2008).
  • Pink = The Republican candidate carried the state in three of the four most recent elections.
  • Purple = The Republican candidate and the Democratic candidate each carried the state in two of the four most recent elections.
  • Light blue = The Democratic candidate carried the state in three of the four most recent elections.
  • Dark blue = The Democratic candidate carried the state in all four most recent elections

When you compare this map to the House and Senate maps, and the general level of disgust with Democrats at this time, there is significant upside potential for the GOP. That's certainly not news, but these maps really crystalize just how much upside there really is.

Again, thanks to Wikipedia.

There are a lot of red and pink states that have 50% or better representation of Democrats in the House and/or Senate. No doubt there is big upside there.

When you couple this map, the over-representation of Congressional Democrats in conservative states and the over-reaching of the Democrat party, things are looking good for conservatives. We just need to make sure the GOP doesn't screw things up.

This map, combined with the others, show that in the past a voter was willing to vote for a Republican for President and Democrat for Congress. After the way the Democrats have shown themselves to be so far left of reality, I have to believe that will happen far less frequently than it used to. The two parties are essentially polar opposites at this point. If you're a conservative, why on earth would you vote for Democrat who is going to go to Washington DC and take marching orders from the most liberal Congressional leadership in the history of our country? It wouldn't makes sense. Let's hope the masses are waking up to that reality.

I think these Dems are about to crap in their oatmeal and they know this....The hand
writing is on the wall, you can pay me now or pay me later, you can't walk lightly and
carry a big stick on this one......
