Great Map Showcasing Breakdown Of House
Monday, March 15, 2010 at 11:03AM Below is a state-by-state breakdown of the U.S. House of Representatives by party affiliation. What I find most interesting about this, is the strength the Democrats maintain in southern states like North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi. Each of those has been a fairly reliable vote for Republicans in recent presidential elections (save NC in 2008).
Also, look at North and South Dakota. They don't have a lot of Representation due to low population densities, but their representation is 100% Democrat. In the traditionally conservative upper-midwest, that makes no sense to me. It's not exactly a hotbed for gay marriage ceremonies.

Nod to Wikipedia on the map.

As you say Pundit, how do Democrats do so well in traditionally conservative states? Let's hope this starts to change in November.
Very interesting how it all breaks down. Dems have a surprisingly large number of seats in red states.
