Patrick Kennedy Exposes Press Bias

Patrick Kennedy photo compliments of RedStateGraffix.(FLP Opinion) - Patrick Kennedy gave a speech - sorry, a screeching meltdown - yesterday on the House floor about the lack of attention that the media is paying the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He also inadvertently called attention to the press bias that exists depending on what party is in the White House.

Under Bush, thousands of negatively tinged war stories were delivered annually by the major press outlets. By comparison, Barrack Obama has not been asked a question about Iraqi campaign by a member of the press corps since June 26, 2009. That's right, nearly one year.

Though Kennedy went about it in an odd manner, his point is quite valid. Barrack Obama and the mainstream media used both wars to hang John McCain and the Republicans during the 2008 campaign, however, once Obama ascended to the presidency?

Crickets.

You really shouldn't be able to have it both ways, but Democrats know better. They have a wiling partner in the mainstream media that sets the political storyline for the masses. The fact that there have been vastly increased deaths and casualties in Afghanistan since Obama came to office, is only relevant politically if the public is informed about it - like they were under Bush. Otherwise, it is largely an afterthought in the minds of most Americans.

To be clear, I largely support what Obama has done in Afghanistan, so I'm not criticizing his policy. I'm criticizing how the outcome of his policy has been covered by the mainstream media.

The bias has become so clear as to be pure propaganda.

The press is the bane of our existence. They become more biased on a monthly basis. I despise the basta*ds.

Yeah, what a shocker, the press ignoring increased casualties in Afghanistan. What next? They'll ignore all of the corruption going on around the Health Care bill negotiations?

Nah, they'd never do that.

What a tirade. Was he ever spanked for this behavior as a child?

Clearly not Bruce. Maybe Eric Massa can take care of that for us.
