Many Still Believe The Global Warming Farce
Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 10:30AM (FLP Opinion) - I saw a Gallup survey this morning that actually surprised me. While the basis of the story was the continued erosion of people who believe in man-made-up global warming, what shocked me was the percentage that still believe - it's quite high.
There is no doubt that this die-hard global warming constituency constitutes a significant percentage of Obama's political base. As Herb Tarlek put it last week, they're akin to the Japanese soldier found hiding in the jungle 38 years after World War II ended because he didn't know it was over.
Here's the Gallup survey:

Maybe my expectations are too high, but when I see Daddy putting together the bike that Santa's elves were said to have made, I start drawing different conclusions about what I believe in.
I guess the loony-left needs a little more convincing and there is no doubt it will be forthcoming.

Numbers are moving in the right direction, but definitely slower than I would have thought. It just shows how deep peoples heads are buried in the sand.
I tend to agree with JoPa. The recent trend certainly is encouraging.
The wording of the survey question is somewhat troubling to me, but since it has been around since 1998 it is too late to change it. The question implies that global warming is a fact, and asks when the "effects" of global warming will begin to happen.
