Best Quote Of 2009

Thanks to Judd H for passing this story along. I actually remember reading this quote in the Orlando Sentinel and calling my wife in to read it to her. It's absolutely classic:

An illegal alien was pulled over for a routine traffic stop in Polk County, Florida. During the stop, the illegal alien was able to wrestle the police officers gun away from him and then proceeded to shoot and killed him.
The deputy was shot eight times, including once behind his right ear at close range. Another deputy was wounded and a police dog killed.
A state-wide manhunt ensued and the murderer was eventually found hiding in a wooded area. As soon as he raised his gun to fire, the SWAT team and officers opened fire on him. The assailant was hit by a total of 68 bullets.
Naturally, the liberal media went nuts and demanded to know why the authorities had shot the assailant 68 times.
Sheriff Grady Judd responded with the following, "Because that's all the ammunition we had."

The guy just had a deputy sheriff gunned down in cold blood by this scumbag and a reporter has the nerve to ask that question? Seriously? What a great response.

Honestly, I would question why they only had 68 rounds. Our standard carry in the Coast guard was 57 rounds and that was for routine boardings. Of course maybe they showed more restraint than I would have and failed to reload.
