Liberal Idiot Of The Week

Charlie Rangel (D-NY) - House Ways & Means Chairman

Representative Charlie Rangel has had his hand in the cookie jar for many a year. It's been one of the worst kept secrets in Washington. But it looks as if an ethics committee finding that he violated House rules by accepting a Caribbean junket may cost him his gavel.

Several members of the House are now asking that he step down as Chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means committee. Not surprisingly, Nancy Pelosi continues to defend Rangel for some unknown reason, but that may change if caucus unrest grows.

You've got to love the Democrats. They came into the majority claiming they would clean up corruption that barely existed, yet all they have done is create more corruption than existed before. Just look at Charlie, he's the tax evasion king who oversees the tax code - what a deal!

For this and many other reasons, Charlie Rangel is our Liberal Idiot of the Week.

Some people may call me a ho pimping and pandering street hustler, tax cheat and a outright
corrupt elected official...Please let me set the record straight, if i am gulity it's because the
white people made me do it, just to make the Congressional Black Caucus look bad in the
eyes of house speaker Piss-lo-see...."I mean---hell i'm surprised how honest i am, as near as
I know, more honest than any asshole on the street."

This dirt bag is the worst that Congress has to offer.
To steal a line from the WSJ today: "It's enough to make Groucho Marx cry!" (Groucho said he would never belong to a club that would have him as a member.)
And the irony is beyond description. He is the chairman of the Ways and Means committee responsible for tax laws which he himself willfully violates. He claims innocence since his staff was responsible, yet house rules (and common sense) state that you are responsible for the actions of your staff.
The hypocracy is beyond belief. I've run out of metaphors to describe this lowlife. Congress has the right and duty to police themselves, yet they let this behavior go on and on.

Now, let me nominate a close runner-up: "Itsy bitsy spider .... teeny weeny" Nancy Pelosi. What an arrogant, condescending bitch.
Incrementalism is something to be embraced, not rejected out of hand. Ask anyone who has run a company and tried to manage large projects. Improvement through small steps is the path to success. Sure ... put all your money on 00 at the roulette wheel and cross your fingers.
I yield my remain whitespace to other pundits ...

For the record, this special recognition for Charlie has as much to do with race as it does with the lunar moon landing. This guy is a corrupt public official who has been evading taxes for years. The chickens are finally coming home to roost aren't they?
