The Great Global Warming Swindle Hits A Wall
Monday, February 15, 2010 at 9:28PM (FLP Opinion) - The global warming facade is crumbling before our eyes. In an amazing departure from his deceptive past, Professor Phil Jones, who is at the heart of the “Climategate” scandal, conceded over the weekend that there has been no “statistically significant” rise in temperatures since 1995.
Furthermore, the Jones admission comes as new research shows that temperature records collected around the world and used to support the global warming theory are dubious at best. In fact, researchers are now suggesting that warming recorded by weather stations was often caused by local factors - such as a thermostat being placed two feet above hot asphalt - rather than global factors.
While it's great to finally hear it, these revelations couldn't be less surprising.
I have long thought it strained all reason to believe the hyperbole associated with man-made global warming. It just didn't pass the smell test at any level, yet over the past decade we have been inundated with politicians and news organizations crowing that this man induced phenomenon will be our downfall.
At a minimum these cries were disingenious; at worst they were outright fraud.
If this is indeed the end of the road for the climate change swindle, it cannot come soon enough. When historians review this era, it will go down as the most egregious redistribution of wealth scheme in the history of the world. It will also stand out as the latest attempt by left-wing fanatics to achieve global domination through illicit means. As usual, they almost did so with the help of a willing and corrupt press.
It would be nice to think these folks would just give up and go away, but we know that won't happen. They'll either regroup and come back with a new strategy, like when the communists re-branded themselves environmentalists. Or they'll tweak their current climate change platform and sell it under a reformulated brand, such as pollution control.
Either way, we'll be dealing with these swine for the long haul and will need to determine how best to neutralize them. I personally believe the key to that is transforming the mainstream media from a biased shill for the far-left into a reasonable watchdog for a politics left and right. As it stands today, that may be a dream, but the hasty ratings demise of CNN and MSNBC gives one cause for hope. In the end, if the media can't make money peddling such leftist propaganda, they won't around to do so.
The media is the head of the snake. Cut it off - or reform it from within - and the left will struggle to maintain the relevance they have enjoyed the past 100 years.
It couldn't come soon enough.

Turd, thanks for your thoughts. I'll try to pump out more opinion. I've definitely done less in the last few weeks than I did before, but some of that is a function of my work schedule. It's easier to write when I can focus in the evening. As you probably know, that's not always the case with clients, kids and a wife!
Can we compare Gore's Global warming to Madoff's Ponzi Scheme?
Sam, Madoff is estimated to have stolen (lost) about $50 billion over two decades. Had the global warming scandal proven successful, I think we would have been looking at numbers into the trillions over a ten year period of time.
In my view, if evidence comes to light that Gore knew this was a fraud, he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law - just like Madoff.
Yeah, if it's proven that Gore knew - and I certainly believe he did - they should hook him up to a car battery for a little "get your mind right" treatment. I'd pay to be an audience member.

You're right Dawg, but with the help of a very biased media as Pundit referenced. I don't believe he could have pulled this off without them.
This article is real Inconvenient Truth. Al's got his hundreds of millions, but he'll never be President and he'll never be respected.
This has taken far too long to surface. Agree with all of the above comments re: AlGore. If he knowingly published lies and endorsed this swindle he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent.
Additionally, the MSM should be brought to account for their role in promoting this farce. Their CEO's should face (a Republican) congressional inquiry next year!
Family I feel your pain about Gore going to jail, if it's proven he knew these figures was forged from the get go...Believe me it will never happen unless we take the House and Senate in November...
Even with that said,it will still be along shot, but we can always hope....
