Geithner Replacement?
Monday, February 1, 2010 at 8:35AM
"Head-In-A-Vice" after blowing three times the legal limit.(Satire) - Word out of Washington is that little known Vinny "Head-In-A-Vice" Mentero is in line to replace Tim Geithner at Treasury. Though Mentero has no formal background in high finance, the Obama administration is apparently looking to move away from Wall Street in replacing Geithner.
This is something of a shocking development, but Mentero was known for his ability to "wash" money in a previous career and some in the Obama administration believe his unique skills are necessary to help eliminate much of our debt.
This is the only known photo of Mentero from a 2006 DUI conviction (right).

CWC: Just a friendly suggestion. With times such as these, it is often difficult to impossible to distinguish fact from humor/satire, especially when it comes to cabinet positions.
I encourage you to continue your practice of noting satirical commentary up front (unless it is factual commentary) just to avoid the potential confusion.
For example, if you were to write a commentary that Obama's 2011 budget calls for $3.8 trillion in spending, of which more than one-third was unfunded and would the added to the debt, I'd surely think this was satire, or something you found on the Onion website. But, who knew? It is fact! Maybe Vinnie should instead be considered to replace Peter Orszag, the White House Budget Director.
Very well stated Bruce. You make excellent points as it is very difficult to tell fact from fiction, truth from satire in this day and age. I'll continue henceforth with my traditional denoting of the article type.
Rip has seen better days. Hilarious twist though.
I agree Bruce my dumb ass was googling away trying to find out who this guy was. Sadly, I am mostly a cynic and not easily duped but with this administration one never can tell fact from fiction.
I know the article is not factual, but even if it was I would say, oh Rip would give him a run for the
money.....
I get it. I'll put "satire" in front of it from now on. I guess my "fake" stories ring too true!
