The Obama BS Machine Kicks Into Gear

(FLP Opinion) - Barrack Obama said in an interview with ABC that he was so preoccupied with digging America out of the hole he inherited, that didn't do enough "speaking directly to the American people" during his first year in office. He made this statement in an attempt to explain away his declining popularity and Scott Brown's victory in Massachusetts on Tuesday.
With that comment in mind, let's consider just how much Obama talked to the American people in the last twelve months:
- He gave 411 speeches, comments and remarks including 52 on health care alone
- He gave 158 interviews including 90 on television, 57 in print and 11 on radio
- 42 news conferences
- 23 town hall meetings
From these numbers, it seems a bit of a stretch for Obama to suggest he didn't do enough speaking to the American people. Many would argue that it's not how much he did or didn't communicate, but the substance of what he communicated when he did.
Huckster Al SharptonObama has insulted the intelligence of the American public more times than memory can recount, but the suggestion that he hasn't flapped his gums enough is laughable. In fact, if you buy that one, you'd probably also believe the one about the Tooth Fairy and Easter Bunny having a love child named Al Sharpton.
Let's face it, when your peddling retooled socialist drivel that has never worked, you'd better have an iron grip on power or you're going to be sent packing when election day rolls around. You see, without absolute power - like Mao, Stalin or Hitler enjoyed - Socialists will always be voted out of office. Results may not have mattered in the old Soviet Union, but they do matter in a Democratic Republic.
Obama has two choices: 1) Stick to the far-left game plan and hit the accelerator, or 2) Come back to reality, as Clinton did, and govern from the center. The ideological choice is one, the pragmatic choice is two.
Here's to hoping he picks option one. It would only serve to further illustrate how out-of-touch with reality these clowns really are, and lead to even larger gains for conservatives in the 2010 mid-terms.

Stop digging Mr. President.. The hole is deep enough and 'what is that smell," is that ol' blue down there with you....
I'd love to see how these numbers compare to previous President's. They seem extremely high. Needless to say, I've seen far more of him than I ever saw of Bush.
ahahahahah eat it obama you SUCK.
Well put Doug. Obama is running his party into the ground and I couldn't be happier.
Obama, the empty suit in the White House, made countless errors in judgement, and we are fortunate that he did. Otherwise some of his campaign promises may have come to pass.
He failed to recognize the path to disaster that Congress was on. Instead of providing guidance, he left Reid and Pelosi to their own devices to forge unilateral far left solutions while totally rejecting any input from "across the aisle". They "own" every action that congress took over the past year.
He is/was totally out of touch with the mainstream public.
His staff of leftists continue to give him poor advice. His cabinet is woefully incompetent (Holder is IMHO the worst AG we've ever had (including Janet Reno)).
He didn't recognize the requirements for true leadership and had no experience to call upon to right the ship. He continues to have the opinion that if he wills it, it will come to pass. His ego and arrogance know no bounds.
All in all, a perfect storm of an administration and congressional leadership of arrogance, incompetence, and radical ideas that have thus far failed to enact most of their agenda.
Pardon the length of this commentary, but I just had to vent a little.
I couldn't agree more with you Bruce. Thank the good Lord they were as incompetent as they were or we would be chowing down on a massive crap sandwich.
They weren't just incompetent they were outright dishonest. We are lucky that they were so brazen about it or most of their agenda very well could have become law.
