Will The GOP Get The Message?

(FLP Opinion) - After last night, one thing is apparent. The Democrat Party is in free fall thanks to their attempt to hijack the country and move it off a leftward cliff.

It is not often in American politics that clear, unambiguous messages are sent to our public officials. Yesterday, a message was sent like I haven't seen in my lifetime, and that message was this: "We won't tolerate big government tax and spend policies, crooked back room deals and dishonest politicians lying to our faces."

For that reason, Democrats have had their heads handed to them in the last three major elections in this country (VA Gov, NJ Gov and now MA Senate). They have been complicit in working against the public will and they have now paid a hefty price for it.

Independents, who were largely responsible for electing Barrack Obama, have now deserted the Democrat Party in droves. It would appear that many Americans have figured out that what a liberal Democrat says they will do in a campaign, and how they actually govern are two very different things.

In other words, they're lying snakes.

Additionally, the ability of the mainstream media to whitewash the lies and deceit coming from Leftist politicians seems more limited as well. Is it any wonder after their fawning, biased coverage of the Obama campaign? They let the cat out of the bag with that move. Now more Americans see them for what they truly are - propagandists for liberal Democrats and not objective journalists.

But what of the Republicans? What will they do with this tremendous opportunity? Will they stick to the popular conservative principles of smaller government, tax cuts and fiscal responsibility that Scott Brown ran and won on in the most liberal state in the country? Or will they return to the Democrat Lite strategy that got them bounced from the White House and Congressional leadership, but invited to all the best DC cocktail parties?

The writing is on the wall; the winning playbook in our hands. The opportunity to create and build upon a revitalized conservative base is within reach. The only thing lacking is a truly conservative organization to stand behind this movement.

If the Republican Party is able to answer the call and fully embrace these core conservative principles, they could take and hold power in the legislative and executive branches of our government for a generation.

If not, get ready for your Tea Party candidates to emerge.

Totally agree. We have the road map to success! If it works in MA, it will work anywhere! The GOP better get everyone on board and use it!

Good stuff Pundit. Agree with your synopsis, but not totally convinced that the GOP will come around. Here is hoping they do.

I'm not sure the GOP gets the message as clearly as you do. They're afraid of running on conservative principles. They're afraid of being called mean by the press, and they really do like going to those cocktail parties...possibly more than they like the principles in which we believe. After all, in their minds the Democrats win with the media, so the obvious thing to do is to become Democrat Lite. They don't seem to recognize that the only way Democrats win at the polls is by lying and pretending to be conservative, and that if people have the choice for a real conservative, that person will win.

I really do hope they wake up. We need a return to a reasonable and responsible government. Heaven knows that will never come from the dirty-dog dishonest dastardly deceitful double-dealing Democrats.

This is a great synopsis of what needs to happen, I'm just not convinced it will happen. They'd be crazy to pass on this opportunity, but don't dismiss the stupidity of the GOP leadership.

The GOP not using this playbook would be stupid beyond belief. We need conservative leadership from the GOP, not some neat-Democrat garbage.
