As State Faces Bankruptcy CA Likely To Pass Statewide Green Building Code
Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 11:53AM (FLP Opinion) - California is on the verge of bankruptcy. So, what to do? Well in the moonbat state, you pass legislation that would add tens of thousands of dollars to the construction of every new commercial building!
California is well known for whacky governance. They have the highest taxes, an incredibly unfriendly business environment and a hard-left legislature that thinks it can spend money when non exists. Now they want to heap thousands of dollars in additional costs onto every new building in the state!
And for what purpose? Another payoff to the environmental kooks that keep Democrats in office?
This proposed bill is bad enough, but it wouldn't be the only insane legislation to recently pass in California. What about the law that denies building permits to new housing developments until they buy enough carbon offsets to cover all new homes, plus all of the new roads and traffic that would be generated by the development. This insanity adds an estimated $60K to every new home in that development. Is it any wonder that the real estate market in California is so unaffordable?
And what about the lawsuit Jerry "Fire Up Another One" Brown filed to stop the manufacture of cement in the state because of the CO2 that is released. This didn't eliminate the need for cement in California, it just forced companies to purchase it from other states - and at a premium. However, because the cement must be transported to California via diesel trucks or trains, it creates far more greenhouse gases than would have been created if it had just been produced in the state.
Who are these idiots?
The old saying is that California is ten years ahead of the rest of the country. If that is true, we have seen the future and we are all doomed.

Another old saying about California is that it is the land of fruits and nuts. I think the nuts have finally cracked. How can there be any productive members of society still living in California?
What is scary, the taxes have gotten so high that a lot of people are leaving the state, but they are taking their crazy left-wing ideology with them. This means states like Idaho, Montana and Colorado are no longer solid conservative states. I think at least some part of that is based on the influx of idiots from California.
I lived in Vermont and that is the same thing that happened there. Liberalism is truly a disease i mean how can you move out of the state because of its failed Liberal polices and take them with you, and this time think it is going to work.
