It's Time To Take The Gloves Off!

(FLP Opinion) - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid today compared Republicans who oppose health care reform to lawmakers who clung to the institution of slavery more than a century ago.

To say this was an outrage would be a ridiculous understatement and I believe a stand needs to be made over his comment - right here and right now.

I'd love to hear one brave Republican Senator say something like this on the floor of the Senate (pardon the salty language, but it is appropriate in this context).

Senator Reid, today you stood on the floor of this great institution and compared Republicans that did not support your socialist takeover of health care to lawmakers who once stood against the abolition of slavery.

Even for you, this was beneath contempt and I'm mad about it. Damn mad.

In fact, I'm so angry that if you don't take to this microphone in the next two minutes to fully retract your outrageous statement, I'm going to hunt you down, and with joy in my soul, kick your ever-loving a** up one side and down the other.

You think I'm kidding? Try me.

If I lose my position in the senate for this, so be it. Some things are worth fighting for and you just found one of them. Kicking your a** would be an absolute pleasure and only further awaken people to the sham you're running here.

Unlike you, I'll one day leave this institution with my head held high and my conscience clean. You on the other hand are about to leave with five less teeth and a fractured rib if you don't come down here and start apologizing.

It's up to you Harry. I'll be thrilled either way.

Imagine the boost a statement like this would provide the conservative movement. These lying scoundrels must be held to account.

Will anyone answer the call?

I love it! Oh, how that would change things. I guess we can dream.

Man, would I love to see this go down. If anyone ever needed ass kicking, it's that schmuck Harry Reid.

Bravo - well said. How do you think the press would spin this incident? Wouldn't be good.

You're dreaming. You'd be hauled away while you were still standing on the Senate floor. How would that work for you?

Mark, I realize that would likely be the case, but the point would have been made. I would never actually be able to kick his rear, but I would make a point that the media couldn't ignore. It would be a galvanizing event for the conservative movement.

Doug, the press would do their best to make the Republican look bad, but they would have a hard time doing so because they would have to play my statement in full. It's short, to the point and hard-hitting. They could spin, but I don't think they could edit.

I'll give you credit, you don't play it safe. I'll tell you this, I'd pay to see this fantasy.

I get the feeling Harry had his a$$ kicked many times on the playground during his childhood....probably by boys who went on to become CEOs and Republicans.

There he goes again.

Harry Reid is a racist,

and that was a racist statement!

Chris, you're spot on. This dork got his clock cleaned on a weekly basis. This is his revenge.

I contend that being against health care reform is worse. At least slave owners had a vested interest in keeping the slaves healthy.
