FL Pundit Person Of The Year - Nominee One
Saturday, December 26, 2009 at 5:53PM Since Time Magazine can't make a decent selection, I've decided to create the first annual FL Pundit Person of the Year Award. Over the next five days, I will post one nominee each day and announce the FLPPOTY on December 31st.
The selection criteria is based on positively impacting the conservative cause or simply amusing me by insulting the liberal establishment.
David FehertyNominee One: David Feherty - Golf Announcer (CBS Sports)
Feherty wrote a piece earlier this year for a Dallas Magazine about George W. Bush moving to the area. In the article, Feherty made reference to the strong dislike that most US soldiers have for the leadership of the Democrat Party.
"From my own experience visiting the troops in the Middle East, I can tell you this: Despite how the conflict has been portrayed by our glorious media, if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Osama bin Laden, there’s a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death."
The Irish-born commentator was hammered by the liberal press for joking about American soldiers wanting to kill US government officials. Executives at CBS and the PGA TOUR also condemned the statement.
Feherty promptly apologized, but I think he knew that would be the outcome when he penned the remark. What impresses me is that he had the guts to say what he knew US soldiers thought about Pelosi and Reid and wasn't afraid to put it in print on their behalf.
For that, David Feherty is a 2009 FLPPOTY nominee.

Great nominee. Forgot he said that.
Good call. Love what he said. Couldn't be more true.
What a great qoute. My new favorite announcer.
Can't stop smiling after reading that
I'm surprised the guy was arrested and jailed by this regime.
