Great article. This editorial and the one they did yesterday should be required reading for every American.

Isn't there a way someone could organize a last-minute march in opposition to this? Maybe do one in each state....in front of the senators' local offices? It's just such a helpless feeling....like there is nothing we can do to stop this from being rammed down our throats.

Chris, the primary problem with a march is that the media has continually downplayed their size and impact. On a local level, they often haven't been covered at all based on what NewsBusters has reported. That said, I'm not sure there is any other way to show our displeasure. We're in a tough spot.

Our political class is a contemptable collection of weasels. They go to great lengths to make sure the light of day doesn't shine on their actions. This bill is a patchwork turd, and the best way to flush it is for several states to pull out. C'mon Texas! Lead the way!
