WSJ Editorial: Comprehensive Summary of Senate Health Care Bill
Monday, December 21, 2009 at 11:48PM
This is the most comprehensive editorial I've seen yet on the Senate Health Care bill. If you're still a supporter after reading this, your goal is to collapse the economy. This will make you livid.

WSJ Opinion Journal is one of my daily reads, and they did an outstanding job of summarizing the situation in this article. I noticed that today (one day after it was published) there were 874 comments! The Democrats may be seriously misreading the public intrest and anger for their actions.
Well spelled out piece.Question: Can the conservatives strighten out this mess when they come into office in 2010?
WC, I wrote an article about this yesterday. It will be impossible for Republicans to do anything in 2010. They can prevent additional legislation at that point. They will need massive majorities (like Dems have now) in the House and Senate and of course the WH to make anything happen. Additionally, I'm not sure some of the moderate Republicans - like the Maine Senators - would vote to overturn anything.
It will be extremely difficult to turn this back, but we can hope.
Bruce, I watch Morning Joe on DVR in the morning to get the view from the other side. They seem to believe that Obama and Dem's will get a huge boost when "people understand what is in the bill." I think they are smoking crack - the public knows these bills are smoke and mirrors and they are livid. Additionally, the comments on Politico (left of center site) are 10 to 1 against the HC bill, and many of the comments are not very nice. The day of reckoning is coming for Democrats - it will be a bloodbath.
However, they knew that when they pushed all of this legislation. They are betting that Republicans will not be able to pick up enough seats in Congress and also win the WH in 2012 to overturn any of this stuff. I hate to say it, but it's probably a reasonably safe bet.
