Is The Bell Tolling For CNN

(FLP Opinion) - Things are not going well at CNN. Certainly nothing new, but it's far worse since the departure of Lou Dobbs three weeks ago.

It's no secret that CNN has been shedding viewers for some time. Earlier this year the network suffered the indignity of falling to last among all cable news networks. Yet that wasn't the last spoonful of humiliation they would be swallowing.

The release of the November Nielsen ratings brought even more bad news - a 25% viewership decline in Dobbs' time slot since his departure.

Not surprisingly, CNN's loss was everyone else's gain. The FOX Report with Shephard Smith saw its highest rated month of the year, and even Thriller Mathews show Hardball beat CNN in the time slot - a genuine embarrassment.

To make matters even worse (if that's possible), Anderson Cooper has seen his ratings slip dramatically over the past twelve months - a stunning 62% to be precise.

I guess liberal bias and convenient omissions don't pay after all.

They've earned their troubles. No one trusts them but liberal buffoons and there aren't enough of them to generate a decent television audience. MSNBC will be next and they'll fall much harder.

Totally agree Don. When you go that far to one side, you can't maintain an audience because only the true believers will stay with you. There just aren't enough of them - thank God.

What continues to amaze me is the shameless manner in which they now flaunt their bias. They don't even try to hide any longer. The house is burning down around them and they think it's time to roast marsh mellows.
