2012 Convention Drama

(FLP Opinion) - When presidential candidates are introduced at their party conventions, the introduction is preceded by an emotional biographical movie which is then followed by their introduction and moving music as they walk on stage. Both parties use this formula.

I may be getting ahead of myself, but I was watching one of my concert DVD's this weekend and came across a piece of music that I think the Republican National Committee could put to good use when they introduce their conservative presidential candidate at the 2012 RNC Convention.

The song is called the Ecstasy of Gold and it was part of the soundtrack to the movie The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. It was used by the band Metallica as an introduction to their concert collaboration with the San Francisco Symphony.

Here's how I see this working: After the candidate is introduced, the music would begin playing and stirring images would accompany it on video boards. As a point of reference, I envision the candidate walking on stage at the same point the band does in video below.

I can't tell you how powerful this is on the right sound system. In a convention hall with a top of the line sound system, this would blow people away. It would absolutely produce chills in conservatives, and maybe even some liberals. It would definitely move independents.

What is most important, this song sends an unmistakeable message to voters. We're done bowing down to other leaders. We're the United States of America - you bow to us.

Turn this up if possible. If you can't feel a bit of the base, you're not getting the full effect. It is powerful.

Yeah, you called it. That would be a very gripping opening.

Chuck:
You nailed it. Hopefully, someone at the RNC is listening, and more importantly, they nominate someone that is up to the task and can live up to the expectations that this music embodys.
